Project Details

Pre-owned e-commerce platforms face a unique challenge — buyers cannot physically inspect items, so the quality and clarity of a product listing directly determines whether a sale happens or a customer bounces. At B-Thrifty the listings lacked consistent naming conventions, accurate product attributes, and the kind of clear human readable descriptions that build buyer confidence and drive conversion.

The work began with analyzing high performing search terms and buyer behavior to understand how customers were finding and evaluating products. From there the category structure was refined, metadata was improved, and item descriptions were rewritten for clarity and accuracy. Consistent naming conventions were applied across hundreds of listings to improve searchability and create a more professional and trustworthy shopping experience. Audience research and analytics informed UI and content recommendations that strengthened transparency, improved readability, and reduced the information gaps that cause buyers to hesitate at the point of purchase.

Collaboration with the operations team was central to the process — streamlining listing workflows, identifying recurring information gaps, and standardizing how pre-owned items were presented across the platform. The work culminated in stronger customer engagement during key seasonal periods including holiday shopping, supporting the business in reaching buyers at its highest traffic moments.

Things I Did

I analyzed high performing search terms and buyer behavior data to identify opportunities to improve product discoverability and category structure across the platform. I rewrote and optimized hundreds of product listings applying consistent naming conventions, improving metadata accuracy, and replacing vague or inconsistent descriptions with clear user centered copy that built buyer trust and supported conversion.

Using audience research and analytics I identified UI and content gaps and recommended changes that improved readability, strengthened transparency, and elevated the overall shopping experience for pre-owned buyers. I collaborated directly with the operations team to streamline listing workflows, close information gaps, and standardize the presentation of inventory in a way that felt professional and intentional. My contributions supported stronger customer engagement during the holiday shopping season and helped B-Thrifty present its inventory more strategically at its most critical commercial period.
